While it might be appropriate for us, being that we are able to understand and see what you said, I don't think it's appropriate for kids, those to whom it was advertised. Like it or not, and I know because my brother did it a bit, and I've seen others, they are most likely to imitate the lemurs than anyone else. I feel as if I'm being a little too teetoling here if you know what I mean, but I personally still wouldn't show it to my 12 year old (if ever God gives me one, preferably starting at 0 and working the years up). Again, I guess my problem here boils down to the fact that it was advertised for kids, lot's of kids went, and it wasn't a kid's movie.Giuseppe Ambrosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15825109896111176650noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17794786.post-1150086165220189482006-06-12T00:22:00.000-04:002006-06-12T00:22:00.000-04:00If you don't mind my saying, I love animated flick...If you don't mind my saying, I love animated flicks. I got a huge kick out of Ice Age, and, yes, I own it. I also spent my hard earned money to see *gasp* Ice Age 2!!!

Wayfarer, the lemur rave was one of the funniest parts of the movie. It was a complete mockery of the rave from Matrix 2, if you think about it. (Or don't. I can't say I blame you. It was only one of the most pointless scenes in any movie, bar none.)

Seriously, the lemurs were so ridiculously stupid, seeing them rave was like watching people rave. At raves, the humanity of a person almost goes out the window, to be replaced by the base, the instinctual, the lowest of the low. And these lemurs were playing that up. For being such an advanced species as they seemed to claim themselves to be, they were at the bottom of the food chain. And, like I said, they were all idiots, except for the #2 lemur... But that's why it was so funny for me...

Oh, and I completely agree with you. Over the Hedge is an awesome movie. I saw that this past weekend right after watching Cars (yes, I caught both of them on the same night). From 18:45 (the beginning of Cars) to 23:00 (the end of Over the Hedge), I was a mess of giggles. I could not stop laughing. I'm working on a post per movie. Maybe we can talk about them there, too...Anthony Smithahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12031052883654418090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17794786.post-1150075895251762842006-06-11T21:31:00.000-04:002006-06-11T21:31:00.000-04:00This is off topic but my brother thinks that you l...This is off topic but my brother thinks that you look like Tom Cruise.

Sorry about that. I mean really, entertainment via a lemur rave? Its disgusting enough when human's do it, so let's put it into a kids movie and make animals do it. Yeah, its cool, right.

A really funny animated movie is Over the Hedge. Madagascar is a cookie compared to this cake. Nothing I've seen yet, except maybe the first Toy Story, really comes close. It is well made, and hilarious the whole way through. It is especially enjoyable if you are familiar with a lot of its allusions. From its "On the Waterfront" to "Indian Jones" motifs.Giuseppe Ambrosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15825109896111176650noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17794786.post-1149982848223583932006-06-10T19:40:00.000-04:002006-06-10T19:40:00.000-04:00I agree. I found that one, except for the stupid Dodo birds, entirely humorless, not to mention it was a boring, hackneyed, and stupid plot in the first place.Quaestorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12993457017319408792noreply@blogger.com
